May Country Wedding meets D-I-S-C-O

January 19, 2024

Maddy & Hugo were married on a beautiful day in May. The Hawthorn hedgerow’s were blousy and blossoming, matching the billowy wafts of white in their wedding flowers,  the sun came out, and there was a surprise twist at the end.

Thanks to Fern Rose Photography for sharing these beautiful pictures, enjoy….!

The theme for the flowers was pretty, pink, white and frilly. We gathered armfuls of sweet rocket from the field, along with larkspur, meadowsweet  and the first of the roses.

There were flowers everywhere on the day – an arch in the Ceremony barn, some big arrangements dotted about, above the bar flowers tumbled down, chandeliers and table flowers – not to mention Maddy’s beautiful flower crown!

Maddy & Hugo seamlessly blended really soft and feminine with glitter, gold & fun! Glitter balls hung from the chandeliers and a big spinning one from the rafters – and mini ones for favours.

The barn was adorned with tasselled garlands and there were gold flecked table runners.

It was a beautiful day with drinks, canapes and games on the lawn, a delicious meal followed by Pavlova for pudding.

In the evening the sequins came out and everyone took to the dancefloor but the big finale came as the sun was going down.

Guests were lured outside by with the promise of sparklers but secretly the best man had plotted a surprise aerial show with real planes, fireworks, and writing in the sky! Maddy and Hugo had no idea and we loved to see their surprised faces. And the planes were really brilliant, the whole Petal & Feast gang downed tools to join the onlookers.

We’re totally up for more covert scheming phone calls in 2024 if anyone’s interested…
