So who books Petal & Feast? What do they have in common and why do we click?
We are lucky that we don’t do a hundred weddings a year and we can really get to know our couples; some are shy, some are loud, some want a great big party, some want just their closest friends and family.
The thing they all have in common is that they all want a relaxed wedding where they can be themselves (whatever that looks like). They all want delicious food. They all want to have a great time, and they all want to do their own thing, but with a team of wedding cheer leaders on the side lines helping them along.
Petal and Feast is a crew with huge personality (you can meet them here) – we aren’t for everyone – but maybe we could be for you?
SOULFUL FOODIES LOOKING FOR WEDDING FEASTS:
At Petal & Feast we love to eat and people who have their weddings with us usually love to eat too. They might choose holiday destinations around where the food looks best, plan day trips around restaurants or weekends around farmers markets. If this is you come on in, this is a safe space.
Priority: A full day of eating! Maybe you want your wedding to feel like one big dinner party, a communal feast with guest leaving full and happy.
Why they choose us: We don’t do boring wedding food. We do crowd celebratory feasts, piled high platters made with sharing in mind, (and our tapas is just about the best you’ll find).
NATURE – CONNECTED CREATIVES:
We definitely get a lot of creatives, did you do textiles at Uni? You should probably get married with us… Architects, designers, gardeners – people with a creative eye who are looking for something authentic and not over done.
Priority: Natural beauty and genuine authenticity – they want a venue that’s ‘real’, without the fake, shiny veneer.
Why they choose us: They love the barn and our magical florals that look like they’ve grown just where you wanted them, it’s the real deal.
OUR CRAFTY CREATIVES :
The hands on makers, the ones that have started drying petals for confetti and making their place cards. They love seeing the vision come to life.
The priority: Personal touches, a hands on approach and making things.
Why they choose us: TIME – they bask in the glory of actually having time to set up, since we aren’t a wedding factory (more on that here) you actually have time to set up. Our barn is the perfect canvas for your handmade details. We give you the space and time to bring your personality into every corner.
THE REBELS & FESTIVAL GOERS & FESTIVAL WEDDING VIBES:
They love their friends, they love their families, they don’t love doing things because that’s what they’re supposed to do or that’s what everyone expects.
Their Priority – Freedom! A great big party, and a venue that says yes (mostly!).
Why they love us: Ditch the sugared almonds, walk in to the ceremony together, no stiff formal dining, just delicious food and space to be themselves.
THE GROUNDED PROFESSIONALS GOING FOR STRESS-FREE ‘ALL INCLUSIVE’ OPTION:
Busy high pressure jobs looking for an easy, relaxed way to have the perfect party. They love to hand things over and know that everything will be done just as they wanted.
Priority: Effortless execution, zero stress.
Why they choose us: Believe it or not we are actually quite professional too. They want peace of mind. They love our experience and love that they can hand so much of it over to us, then come along and enjoy the day, easy peasy. Venue – done, food – done, flowers – done!
OUR LOVELY TEACHERS:
The organised ones… This crowd love a bit of wedding admin, they love our meetings, our event plans, our giant Mega Form of admin joy.
Priority: A lovely day and a smooth run up.
Why they choose us: Tick, tick, tick! These guys love that we have a plan – and not only that we have a plan, but we have a plan for making your plan. They love that they can have everything organised by Christmas and get on with creating the ultimate seating plan.
SPORTY ONES:
The yoga crew, the runners, the hikers, the outdoorsy ones. These couples love the great outdoors and want a day that reflects that energy. They might be going for a run in the morning before the wedding or honeymooning climbing Kilimanjoro.
Priority: Not being constrained. Big open space to make the most of. The great outdoors. (Game of rounders anyone?)
Why they choose us: They want a venue that feels open and alive, where guests can stretch their legs, breath the fresh air, work up an appetite for all that food!
THE ETHICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL LOVERS – EARTHY FOLK LOOKING FOR AN ECO FRIENDLY, SUSTAINABLE WEDDING:
The eco-conscious couples who love the planet as much as they love each other. These folk love the seasonal feasts, the fact our flowers are all grown just around the corner in our low impact, no dig flower field. They love sitting round the fire pit listening to nightingales and hanging out in The Shack with the Merlin App and seeing which other birds they can hear.
Their priority: Sustainability without sacrificing style.
Why they choose us: They love that our local blooms, our eye on the season, our no to bottled water and our loos being twinned with Malawi.
THE BIG FAMILY GATHERING:
These guys usually have lots of children to think about and want a beautiful celebration for all the family.
Their Priority: Keeping the kids happily entertained and the adults completely stress-free. They want a space where the little ones can run wild while the grown-ups actually get to finish a conversation (and a glass of wine).
Why they choose us: Kids love to let off steam in our big open fields, eat a spectacular dinner that even the pickiest eaters will love, and cap off the night toasting marshmallows over the fire pit. Grown ups love the easy going vibe. It feels like a magical, giant family get-together with all the catering taken care of.
