Elizabeth Ruby, lemon drizzle lizzle is herself a former (reformed?) Petal & Feast gang member. We love her dearly and she takes wonderful photos! She was the photographer for Amber’s wedding and we’re always pleased to have her at the barn popping in to the kitchen to ask for coke and eat crisps because although her photos are refined, her palate isn’t. We love taking her on exotic holidays that she hates. See her Morocco holiday blog post here and here if you fancy a giggle.
Tell us a bit about yourself, and how long you’ve been a Wedding Photographer.
Hi, I’m Elizabeth and I have been a wedding photographer for over 12 years after my friend forced me to photograph her wedding and I’ve been doing it ever since! Besides photography, I really love my dog, Ernest. And besides Ernest, I really love interiors, gardening and doing up our 60s bungalow has been taking up all of our spare time for as long as we can remember. I do also have a husband and children, and I love them very much too, in case they’re reading this and noticed the dog came first.

What do you like working with Secret Barn couples?
The Secret Barn is just a special place that isn’t like any other venue I’ve been to. The celebrations here are always relaxed and informal embracing friendship, family and nature and are just a joy to be a part of. The couples are always so lovely and really seem to appreciate what a unique and special place the barn is. I love the flowers too, they look like they’ve just grown into their ribbons.

What’s your favourite thing about The Secret Barn?
I can’t choose one. there’s a lot to love. The wonky barn filled with more twinkles than space. The orchard wall for the best group shots. The little bridge framed with roses where you can emerge, newly married, to all your loved ones waiting for you on the other side, ready with their confetti. The long swishy grass and wildflowers and the sun setting behind the oak tree in the field and turning the dance floor golden. However, I think my new favourite thing are the new loos…. I especially love the cistern geranium. And I love all the girls. More than the loos.
