The Raven and The Farm

October 31, 2013

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,

Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,

While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,

As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

`’Tis some visitor,’ I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door –

Only this, and nothing more.’

In the spirit of Halloween and all thing Spooooooky I thought I would pop up this selection of photos today, of a shoot I Set Up and Styled for the Photography Farm up. I think this is one of my favourite Photography Farm Shoots. You’ve gotta love a giant human sized nest. (If i could find them I would put up the pictures of us transporting it there, not beautiful but really funny. It sat on the top of the Volvo like a giant oversized hat, we had to keep stopping to fasten it on so Andy could see out of the windscreen.)

If you are a photographer chances are you probably know all about the Farm – if not Where have you been?!

Brainchild of Lisa Devlin, wedding photographer extraodinaire , the Photography Farm is luxury 2 and a half day workshop held near Gatwick in the Surrey / Sussex borders. God knows, (and so does Frank the owner, probably), what has gone on in those hallowed walls, but whatever it was it inspired Freddie Mercury to write Bohemian Rhapsody there. It is now all very posh, with a Swimming pool and Sauna and lovely house and grounds, but best of all with Fenella, Richard and Plum, who whip up a lovely Fish Pie or Lasagne of an evening and keep the place warm, cosy and friendly. There are seemingly endless dogs and cats to keep the sofa warm. It’s a wonder the Gallagher brothers ever left, but luckily they did, and now in between the great and the good of the music world swishing in for a sing song, they also host other private events (like weddings..). The workshop is a very personal affair, with only a small number of photographers attending you get a very in depth experience and tuition. It’s an intensive photography bubble to live in, where you will make friends and learn lots. Places will soon be booking up for Farm Week so if you are a photographer looking for a help with a particular aspect of your business or skilz get on over there and book a place. I’m very lucky to be one one the Photography Farm team – so if you do come – come and find me and say Hello.
