GORGEOUS BOHO FESTIVAL WEDDING

November 19, 2023

Vix & Sam – What a gorgeous, fun pair! Super lovely, super stylish, super fun. Vix and Sam wanted a relaxed, boho festival wedding, in their words; “flowers, family feasting, an outside humanist blessing, dancing, fire pits and stargazing”. Rounded off with some bell tent magic from our pals at Beautiful Bells.

They both wanted simple decor that would let the setting and barn work it’s magic so we suggested using our vintage mismatched plates and hand dyed vintage napkins. They had Amber’s menus with a lovely rusty orange illustrated border sat on top of the plates and a friend made them place names. Rather than adding too much fuss – the tables look really beautiful before you’ve added anything else. Some lovely brass candlesticks from ‘The Toast’ thrown in for good measure and they were away with 3 DIY flower buckets (field grown!) and some willing volunteers setting up some table flowers. Sari bunting was strewn liberally about the place, and they had an Order of the day board, bar menu and an illustrated quote all on blackboards from Amber.

Vix and Sam asked for field grown flowers of warm tones of burnt orange, dusty pinks, reds and mustards. She wanted lots of seasonal wild foliage too. They had tons of bridesmaids and groomsmen all needing signs of office (8 bridesmaid bouquets, 9 buttonholes & a crown for a little flower girl!). For the barn they wanted a ladder for above the bar and 3 floral chandeliers. And DIY buckets for table flowers that they would do together with their friends.

On the day of their wedding, they went running together and probably did some yoga (Vix is really good at it!) and turned up looking particularly cool, calm and beautiful. Vix had a 2 piece instead of a dress – it had lovely sleeves and she had burnt orange silk ribbon trailing from her bouquet. Sam looked perfectly dressed down in a cream suit and shirt. Coordinated and stylish! A true power couple. The bridesmaids all had tonal lovely oranges. What a beautiful bunch.

After their ceremony in the orchard, they all ate canapés on the lawn, sipping Cremant and Elderflower fizz. They had our ‘Pimp my Prosecco’ station, buckets of craft beers dotted about and Mezze Canapé menu:

Spiced Lamb Bites with Minted Yoghurt Dressing Baba Ganoush & Handmade Flatbreads Goats Cheese Crostini with Honey & Thyme Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Crostini with Pesto

Vix and Sam entered barn to music and cheering and a sea of waving vintage napkins! They began dinner sat at their (festival named) tabled for sharing Tapas starters, Breads, Olives, Padron Peppers bedecked the tables alongside Baked Feta and Aubergines with Mint and Honey. Everyone tucking in and sharing them about.

This was followed by Spit Roast Garlic & Herb Chicken, Lamb Kebabs, Halloumi & Vegetable Kebabs & Smokey Grilled Aubergine all on the Barbeque. All served at the bar by our lovely smiley team, buffet style! Their selected salads were:

Leafy Green Garden Salad with Homegrown Edible Flowers, Moroccan Cous Cous with Roast Vegetables and Spicy Harissa, Creamy Potato Salad with Cornichons, Capers & Spring Onions, Spicy Carrot and Sesame Slaw Late Summer Beets, BlackBerry & Goats Cheese

After a pudding of Jam Jar Cheesecakes, served outside from The Shack, the partying began in earnest! Firebowls were lit, the band kicked off and the dancing begun. They stopped briefly for some sparkler based shenanigans, some cake (made by a friend!) and Dirty Doorstop Sarnies.

We waved them off across the Rose Bridge to their bell tents and Campervans, all happy and jolly. They all looked a little more delicate when we dished out breakfast in the morning though 😉

We loved having you Vix and Sam, thank you so much for coming, we hope your honeymoon Campervan Euro tour was great! And huge thanks to Irene Yap for sending through these beautiful pictures, they are gorgeous as usual.
